We tested our knowledge of the planets to see if we could name them all and put them in order.
Then we made some animals of our choice out of paper chains.

Endangered animals evening. We played a corners game where each corner was a reason animals are endangered.
We played another corners game where each corner was a different part of the world and we had to guess where animals come from.
We made corner bookmarks of endangered animals. https://artsycraftsymom.com/endangered-animals-corner-bookmarks/
Young leaders organised this week and we made funny animals out of strips of cardhttps://tratatuha.com/bull-craft.html.
This week we talked about endangered animals and what we could do to help protect them. Some ideas were to
pick up litter we see lying around and to recycle plastic.
build a hedgehog home like Steve Backshall on DIY Deadly ]https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/m000kbn0/diy-deadly-with-steve-backshall
We also talked about how we can help reduce climate change which also leads to animals losing their homes. Suggestions were:
remind everyone that when they waste electricity they’re killing polar bears!
instead of using the car, to go by bike or walk to places instead.
We also thought about how not all endangered animals are the large animals like tigers, hippos, gorillas or pandas. Lots of minibeasts and small mammals are endangered in this country too so we can help them by leaving areas our garden wild to create little habitats for them.
Wild birds are also under threat so we can leave out food for them.
The challenge for next week is to do something to help endangered animals and report back next time.
We also played a drawing game and got to see some lovely work for the Baking badge and Collecting badge.
We had lots of fun doing the Oman challenge badge.
One of the leaders from Bristol North West is fundraising for their GOLD trip to Oman and so created this Oman challenge. Read more about it here https://goldteamoman2019.wordpress.com/.
We made camels and had a relay race with them (we coloured in two camel head pictures, one for the left and one for the right side of the camel head, then Brown Owl made poles using rolled up newspaper to make ‘camel hobby horses’).
We had a ‘Bring your pet to Brownies’ evening which was really fun!
We got to see and hear about lots of pets – guinea pig, hamster, rabbit, cats, dogs and goldfish!
We all made pictures or wrote poems about our favourites.
We talked about camouflage and made camouflage masks.
Then we had a quiz about endangered animals.
We also played a game where some Brownies mimed animals and we had to guess what they were.
Easter crafts. We made ‘bunny’ corner bookmarks following the instructions from https://www.easypeasyandfun.com/easter-bunny-corner-bookmark/ .
